Scottish hotels led occupancy and revenue rates in the UK in August.
The latest survey by accountants and business advisers BDO LLP found revenue (rooms yield) rose 9.3% to £82.95 per room compared to £53.28 in regional UK, £47.21 in England, and £49.02 in Wales.
Although year-on-year occupancy fell in Scotland in August the 88.4% figure was higher than the rest of the UK. In regional UK the number was 82.9%, with 80.3% in England and 86.6% in Wales.
Revenue in Glasgow leapt due to the Commonwealth Games, rising 21.3% to £64.31.
The enduring international appeal of the Edinburgh festival saw revenues rise 4.9% to £116.39, which was just 37p less than London recorded in August.
