A Fife whisky company has notched up another first after being featured in a new global guide all about the national drink.
Spencerfield Spirit, which is run by Inverkeithing couple Alex and Jane Nicol, has been highlighted in the new Insight Guides 2011 Scotland edition published in over 70 countries.
Their Sheep Dip Whisky was chosen to be photographed against the landscape of Glencoe and Mr Nicol said he was stunned and delighted to hear of their inclusion in the guide.
“This is a great boost for us as Insight Guides are well known throughout the world and it will be exciting to think that so many visitors to Scotland will have seen our whisky before they have even been to the country.”
Founded in 2005, the business has been fighting to save long-forgotten whisky brands like Sheep Dip and Pig’s Nose.
As well as being featured in the guide, Spencerfield has been nominated in two categories in this year’s Scotland Food and Drink Awards.
