FMC Technologies has begun recruiting to fill 240 posts, 70 of which are at its Dunfermline plant.
This month the firm, a leading technology provider for the energy industry, announced it would create 240 research and development and manufacturing posts at its Scottish bases.
Its plans to deliver jobs at its Dunfermline and Glasgow sites are supported by £2.5 million of regional selective assistance through Scottish Enterprise.
The posts will take FMC’s Scottish workforce to almost 1,000. Jobs will be based in Pitreavie, Glasgow and Aberdeen. It says increasing exploration and production spending by the company’s customers around the world supports the expansion.
FMC is also expanding its graduate development programmes.
Worldwide, FMC employs around 12,500 employees at 27 production sites in 16 countries. Orders during 2010 increased by 93% to $5.7 billion and the company continued to expand its leading share of the subsea tree market.
Completion systems manager Dan Neelon said: “The Scottish design, manufacturing and service operations continue to play a key part in our innovation and our state of the art production facilities also allow FMC to accelerate equipment deliveries.”
