The 50th annual sale of pedigree Luing cattle was staged by Wallets Marts, Castle Douglas, in conjunction with the Luing Cattle Society.
The pre-sale show judge was Finlay McGowan from Incheoch Farms, Alyth.
The champion pair of in-calf heifers from McNee, Benhar, West Lothian, went on to sell for 2,700gns each to Messrs Davies, Corwen, Wales.
The reserve champion heifers from Steven Murray, Rockcliffe, sold for 2,600gns each to Jones, Llangollen.
The champion pair of bulling heifers were from breed founders Cadzow Bros,Isle of Luing, and they sold for 1,900gns to Mr Gill, from Stonethwaite, Keswick.
The reserve champion bulling heifers from Professor Penny, Harehead, Duns, made 1,800gns to Lanton Estates.
Top price in the bulling heifer section was 2,100gns, paid to Upper Chatto and bought by Messrs Burke, Peebles.
Bulls sold well, with a 93% clearance rate.
Topping the bulls at 11,500gns was Dirnanean Riley from Messrs Finlay McGowan, Dirnanean, selling to breeders Philip and Simon Simmers from Keith.
Next top at 8,500gns was Finlarg Robroy from Robert and Hazel McNee, Over Finlarg, Tealing.
Robroy is off to a new home at Knowsley Park with Dave and Annabel Stanners.
Another two bulls sold for 7,500 guineas: firstly from Dirnanean, selling to Alistair McArthur, Nunnerie; and then again from Finlarg, selling to Thomsons Walls Ltd.
