RSABI chief executive Nina Clancy with a cheque for £2,578 raised at the NFUS annual dinner and presented by outgoing union president Nigel Miller.

Two charities have benefited from £5,156 which was raised at NFU Scotland’s annual dinner at the Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews.

Following the dinner, guests gave donations which were split between the Royal Highland Educational Trust Fife and Lothians and rural charity RSABI.

A cheque for £2,578 was presented to RSABI chief executive Nina Clancy.

A similar amount was given to Carole Brunton from RHET Fife.

Nina said: “RSABI very much appreciates the ongoing support from NFU Scotland and its members. This money will make a real difference to people’s lives.

“RSABI is looking to substantially increase the number of people we help, and this money will assist in that aim.

“If you know someone, please put them in touch. We can offer financial assistance for personal expenses for those who qualify, and give information on where to get further help and advice,” she said.

“Call 0131 475 4166 or visit our website www.rsabi.org.uk.”

Carole Brunton, the project co-ordinator for RHET, thanked everyone for their donations.

“We are delighted to receive this fantastic sum of money so RHET can continue to take the countryside to the classroom,” she said.
