Salers gain momentum with 5,800gns prices at Stirling Bull Sales

Salers bulls have been sold at Stirling in small numbers for a few years, but they are now beginning to gain momentum, with two sharing the top price of 5,800gns.
The first was Chapelpark Hawk from John Pirie, of Chapel Park, Lynchat, Kingussie.
A horned bull, he is by Chapelpark Arron.
He was shown with his dam as a calf at foot at the Royal Highland in 2013 when she was placed female champion and reserve overall.
The buyer yesterday was Adam Hunter, of Scatsa, Brae, Shetland.
The second at 5,800gns was from Alister MacKenzie, Whitebog, Fortrose, selling to R Garden, Culfosie, Echt.
This one is from Seawell Diplomat and out of Whitebog Tilli.
Graham McClymont, Cuil, Newton Stewart, saw the hammer come down at 5,000gns for his Cuil Gandalf, by Blazer and out of Cuil Bonny.
The buyer was N&D Austin, Boreland of Girthon, Gatehouse of Fleet.
In all, 13 Salers bulls sold to average £3,950.
