Eight farmworkers were presented with long service awards from the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland on Saturday. All bar one were in attendance
Norman Rodger was recognised for 40 years’ service working for the Smith family at Hallroom Farm in Guildtown, while David Clark Dutch was presented an award for 30 years’ service, most recently working at Dupplin Farms for the past nine months.
A 30-year service award was made to William Lambert Peebles who has been working for AS Lyburn, Corston Farms, Coupar Angus, as a tractorman since 1984.
Grahame Alexander Aitchison was honoured for 32 years’ service working for GB Gillon & Son, Arnbathie, Perth.
James Auchterlonie has completed 35 years’ service with AS Lyburn, Corston Farms, Coupar Angus.
Ian McDiarmid was awarded a 45-year long-service medal for working at Bruce Farms, Balmyle, Meigle.
George William Menzies was honoured for 47 years’ service for Ben Challum Ltd, East Crieffvechter, Crieff.
David James Wishart was honoured for 50 years’ service at Rossie Home Farms, Castlehill, Inchture.
