Borderway Agri-Expo, held at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, hosted the Aberdeen-Angus Winter National Show.
Hamish Slater of the Deveron herd in Aberdeenshire was judging.
More than 85 head were catalogued.
The overall female championship, heifer calf and the overall calf championship went to Appleby-based Bryan Ronan and Carol Stephens with April-born heifer calf Jerusalem Duchess P308.
Securing the reserve overall female and reserve heifer calf championships was Carol Rettie at the halter of her and husband Richard’s Retties Lady Ruth P280.
This is a name which has become synonymous with success of late for the Clackmannanshire-based couple.
Lady Ruth P280 is a full ET-bred sister to the highly successful Retties Lady Ruth N228, winner of many calf championships last year, culminating in an interbreed calf championship at the East of England Smithfield Festival last December.
She is by Rawburn Elysium F547 and out of Wall Lady Ruth E397.
Taking the male, bull calf and reserve overall calf championship were Neil and Mark Wattie, Mains of Tonley, Alford with their bull calf champion Tonley Jose Ebanks-Blake P050.
This April-born calf is a son of senior herd sire Blelack Evor H929 and is out of Blelack Jubilee Erica F422.
Reserve male championship honours went to Alistair Clark and family, Cumnock, Ayrshire, with Duncanziemere Muskateer P089, the first son to be born by the Royal Highland Show interbreed champion Rawburn Jester Eric J034.
In the yearling heifer section it was Netherton Evita N734, owned in partnership by the McLaren family and HW Angus, Perthshire, which took the championship. Evita is by previous herd sire Netherton Big Edition H460.
Securing the yearling male honours was Alasdair Houston’s Gretnahouse Samson N645, the first bull to be born by the herd sire Gretnahouse Blacksmith L500 which is shared in partnership with the Arnott family of Haymount.
The reserve yearling male championship went to W and D McLaren with Netherton Kelso N768, a son of the 36,000gns the Moss Mr Eshton D409 and out of Netherton Karama E368, making him maternal brother to this year’s successful show cow.
He was also calf champion at the Summer National Show at The Three Counties Show.
