Retties JFK heading for Skye after five-figure sale
ByThe Courier Reporter
The Alloa-based Aberdeen-Angus breeders Richard and Carol Rettie have sold their 17-month-old bull Retties JFK for an undisclosed five-figure price to Donald Rankin, for use on his Kilmaluag herd on the Isle of Skye.
The bull was purchased by the Retties as an embryo from Alistair Clark, Duncanziemere, Cumnock, and has a prize-winning pedigree behind him.
His full brother, Duncanziemere Judge, was breed champion at the Royal Highland Show in 2004. His full sister Duncanziemere Jody won her section at the Royal Highland in 2006.
A son of Newcairnie Pastor, JFK has proved himself on the show circuit too, taking the reserve junior male title at the Aberdeen-Angus National Show at Perth in August, and a week later at Kinross Show winning the breed championship before securing the reserve interbreed award.
“JFK has been well admired over the summer and we’re delighted he’s heading to Skye to work on the Kilmaluag herd, and wish Donald Rankin all the best with him,” said Mr Rettie.
