Young video game fans will get the chance to take part in a special workshop revealing some of the tricks of the trade courtesy of Dare to be Digital, the international competition run by Abertay University.
Dare to be Digital is holding its 2010 showcase at the Exchange in Edinburgh next week and as part of the weekend-long event, BAFTA will host a workshop for youngsters aged 12 to 16 on August 13
It will give aspiring games designers the chance to learn about the development process, from |planning to designing their games.
Guest speakers will include BBC online games gurus Robert Hamilton and Sally Greig, both of whom have worked on games such as Mission: 2010 and the BAFTA-nominated Shoebox Zoo.
Registration for the event takes place at 1.30pm on Friday, August 13.The workshop is also part of the BAFTA Young Game Designers competition, which is open for entries until October 18.
Video games workshops will continue at Dare ProtoPlay’s Studio Workshop from 10am to 5pm on August 14 and 15.
BAFTA is giving away 10 free places to the extended series of workshops.
