Dundee firms develop Virgin Atlantic app for iPhone
ByNews reporter
Two Dundee software companies have teamed up to create a program that allows people to track Virgin Atlantic flights from an iPhone.
The Virgin Atlantic Flight Tracker app was developed by Waracle and Tag Games and allows users to track, in real-time, the location of each Virgin Atlantic aircraft and find out arrival and departure times.
Passengers can also view the flight path of each aircraft and set an alert when a particular flight lands.
The app also includes two games, Balloon Trip and Where’s Richard?, which has been given the seal of approval by Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson.
Waracle was set up by a group of Abertay University graduates and specialises in iPhone applications.
This year the company launched Love Food, Hate Waste, an iPhone application created to drive down food waste.
Mobile gaming company Tag Games was set up in 2006 and has released titles including Car Jack Streets and Football Pro.
