Laurencekirk photographer Kirstie Abbey has won three of the top categories at The Master Photographer Association (MPA) Scottish region’s annual awards.
Kirstie was awarded the titles of under-fives photographer of the year, most promising classical wedding photographer of the year and MPA Scotland portrait photographer of the year.
It is a huge achievement for the young photographer particularly the portrait photographer of the year award.
This success and recognition follows only a few months after being awarded her licentiate by the MPA. This itself involves a lot of work putting together a panel of 20 images that are rigorously judged by a group of MPA fellows.
She said, “I was literally jumping with excitement when I found out that I had won the titles of under-fives photographer of the year, most promising classical wedding photographer of the year, and the incredible title of Scottish portrait photographer of the Year 2011.
“To say I’m delighted is an understatement. The standard of work entered into the awards by photographers Scotland-wide was very high, as it is every year-so to win not one but three awards is a very great honour and I am very proud.
“A big thank you to all of my clients and I can’t wait to create more award winning images.”
