A painting of Auchterhouse by James McIntosh Patrick has been sold for £8100 in Perth.
Dating from 1961, the oil on canvas was acquired by a private collector at a special auction held by Lindsay Burns and Company in their King Street premises.
The sale was organised as part of the ongoing Perth 800 celebrations and everything in the sale had a strong Perth or Perthshire connection.
Another painting showing a familiar local view Perth looking north from Kinnoull Hill achieved what is believed to be a record sum for a work by the artist William Miller Frazer.
Painted in 1924, it had a pre-sale estimate of £4000 to £6000 and eventually went for £7800 to a local private buyer.
A Perth-made Paul Ysart Monart “Butterfly” paperweight also exceeded expectations, selling for £1300 against a guide price of £300 to £500.
Other glass went well, with a number of collectors making the trip to Perth and a rare Monart vase sold for £900.
A set of six George III silver tablespoons by Robert Keay, circa 1800, went for £340 and two railway posters using the same view as the other picture by William Miller Frazer fetched £880 and £580.
“The turnout and interest in the sale was excellent,” said auctioneer Nick Burns.
“Local people were joined by collectors from far and wide the saleroom was packed.”
