Dundee band EH! launch their debut EP at the Doghouse on Saturday.
Since forming just over a year ago, Ian, Andy, Sean and Kris began their prolific songwriting output almost immediately and set about getting a name.
After several beers in the Taybridge Bar and a lengthy, energetic “discussion”, possible names were put forward which either got replies of nah! or eh! (as in the Dundee vernacular).
EH! it was then and the band played their first gig at The Underground to an amazing response and the EH! Clan – their “fantastic” crew of loyal supporters – was formed.
They recorded their first demo in April that year but then in September things took a twist when Kris left the band and was replaced on drums by Paul Connelly.
Fast forward to February 2010 . . . their first EP On It was recorded in Stoke with Shaun Lowe (Sting, Wild Cherry, Prince) on production.
And it’s a terrific first effort.
Get along to the Doghouse on Saturday for the chance to hear it for the first time.
Supporting them on the night are Dundee Street Poet Gary Robertson, The Dead Sea Souls and Bootleg Wonderland.
