While not (yet) challenging the scale or fame of the Dundee Blues Bonanza, Arbroath’s Bell Rock Blues Festival continues to go from strength to strength and this year’s line-up of around 30 acts spread across 13 venues over the weekend of August 28/29 promises to be the best yet.
Promoted by Arbroath Licensed Victuallers’ Association, the Bell Rock Festival now runs as a stand-alone festival after its humble beginnings as a bolt-on to the Seafest.
Acts confirmed include Al Hughes, Blue Belly, Blues Deluxe, Blueshouse, Blue Hyenas Duo, Blues Juniors, Doc Brown and the Groovecats, Dr Bob, Heavy Mama, Georgia Crawl, Ghosts of Progress, Graeme Sim and the Crew, Hard to Handle, Heavy Mama, KWAK, the Hot Tamales, Jamie Harper Band, Juke Joint Rollers, Lazy Poker, Lyndon Anderson, Midnight Blues Band, Mr Spider, Safehouse, Son Henry (solo), Souped Up Fords, Sympatico, The Deal, Three Card Trick and Urban Poets.
