Campers attending T in the Park look set to face rainy weather when they arrive today, but the landowner at Balado is confident the festival can cope.
With rainstorms and flash flooding causing problems in Courier country throughout Wednesday, T is getting off to a wet and muddy start.
Around 85,000 people are expected to attend this weekend’s music festival where they will be treated to top acts including the Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Beyonce and Slash.
The site will be open today from 3pm to campers, with entertainment provided on Friday from the likes of the Arctic Monkeys and Tom Jones.
Those travelling to the festival may well be advised to take their wellies and a cagoule, with showery weather forecast.
However, Douglas Alexander, landowner of the Balado venue, feels the site will cope even if there is a deluge.
“We have excellent drainage here,” he said. “I was down to Glastonbury recently and spoke with Mike Eavis, its organiser. The reason they often get so much mud is that it is located in a bowl. We don’t have those problems here.”
