Snow Patrol have been announced as headliners for this year’s T in the Park at Balado in July.
The band formed at Dundee University will close the Friday night at the festival which, for the first time, will have the same capacity 85,000 fans as the rest of the weekend.
With The Stone Roses already announced for Saturday, July 7, Leicester band Kasabian are the Sunday night festival closers, making it an all-indie guitar fest for the top slots at T in the Park 2012.
Others announced on Thursday by organisers DF Concerts were Elbow, Tinie Tempah, New Order, Example, Kaiser Chiefs, The Temper Trap, The Darkness, Miike Snow, Labrinth, Mastodon, Pulled Apart By Horses and Tribes, along with David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Jessie J, Emeli Sande, Ben Howard, Amy MacDonald, The Courteeners, Enter Shikari, Rizzle Kicks, Peter Doherty, The Wailers, Alabama Shakes, Chase and Status, Skrillex, Happy Mondays, James Morrison, The Enemy, The Wanted, Twin Atlantic, Christina Perri, Devlin, Bellowhead, Little Roy, Spector and Band of Skulls.
For the first time, the Slam Tent will be open on Friday night.
Festival director Geoff Ellis said fans’ views had been taken on board when booking the acts.
He said: ”We make every effort to book the bands they tell us they want to see. With some of the biggest bands and the greatest audience in the world, we hope the weekend of July 6-8 will be unforgettable for fans.
