A Fife musician has recorded a video in a Dundee launderette to accompany one of her songs which has been chosen as part of the soundtrack to a new Hollywood blockbuster.
House At The End Of The Street, starring Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence and Max Thierot, has gone on general release.
Panda Su’s Alphabet Song is the track playing for Jennifer’s first on-screen kiss with her love interest, Ryan (played by Max).
The film has gone to number one in the US Box Office chart, which Su hopes could lead to some added interest in her music across the world.
Su (real name Suzanne Shaw), from Wormit, said she had been told almost a year ago that her song was to be featured in the film but admitted she did not dare celebrate until she heard it in the movie.
She went with Dundee video producer Dylan Drummond and other crew members to see the first screening at Cineworld on Friday.
”It’s very exciting and it was such a weird thing to see my name in the credits,” Su said. ”I released the song last year and got some great feedback from people in England. Our synch agent asked if she could take the song to Los Angeles because she thought she could get it in a film out there.
”She told us it was going to be in Jennifer’s next movie a low-budget, cool horror movie which was great. That was before Jennifer’s career took off and she’s now massive.”
The actress has become one of the brightest young things in Hollywood, appearing in X Men: First Class and Hunger Games.
To celebrate her part on the soundtrack, Su decided to release the video, which was produced and directed by Dylan and was filmed in Lochee Launderette. It also featured band member Ad Phillips, launderette owner John Grossi, his daughter Collette and son John.
Alphabet Song has already been single of the month in various publications.
