The View to play Caird Hall in April

The View have announced they are to play a homecoming gig at the Caird Hall in Dundee in April.

The band, who are on a UK tour of smaller gigs which saw them wow audiences at two sell-out shows at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow last week, have added the date as part of three extra Scottish shows to promote their forthcoming new album, Bread and Circuses, which is set for release in March.

The Caird Hall gig, which will be their fourth at the 2200-capacity venue since their big breakthrough in 2007, takes place on April 4, followed by Aberdeen Music Hall the following night and Glasgow’s Barrowlands on April 6.

The announcement will spark yet another online scramble for tickets, which cost £15 plus booking fee and go on sale for all three gigs on Friday, at 9am.

Bass player and songwriter Kieren Webster said, “It’s great to be playing the Caird Hall again. We always want to play there, so it’s brilliant that it’s been confirmed.

“The last three times have been a great party and it should be another fantastic night. We can’t wait to play the new songs to our fans from Dundee.”

Having been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2007 with their number one debut album Hats Off To The Buskers, and then followed that up with Which Bitch? in 2009, The View’s third album comes out on Monday, March 14.

Although the Dryburgh lads released the free download track Sunday in November to coincide with the band’s tour, first single proper Grace comes out on March 7.

Concert tickets will be available from www.gigsinscotland.com, or call 08444 999 990.
