A Catterline singer has teamed up with local pupils for a concert and CD in aid of a lifeboat museum.
Dave Ramsay has been working with pupils at Gourdon Primary ahead of the charity concert and live recording session in aid of the Maggie Law Museum next month.
The singer-songwriter and children have written two songs about the village and the Maggie Law lifeboat ahead of the event in Montrose on June 4.
The Maggie Law, an early Gourdon lifeboat built by subscription from local fishermen, was launched in May 1880 it served for 40 years and saved 38 lives.
The Gourdon pupils will honour that history at the concert and will feature on four songs on the new double CD album.
Dave and friends will also perform 30 new songs and poetry for the CD.
These will be performed at the concert, promising strong Gourdon, Bervie and Kinneff connections, with a few surprises for the audience.
Themes include heroes, heritage, humour and tales of the coastline.
Gourdon Primary headteacher Sandra Japp said, “This is an excellent opportunity for our pupils to put their learning into action to benefit our community.
“The Maggie Law and the bravery of her crew should be celebrated and remembered by everyone in Gourdon and the area.”
Dave said, “It has been great fun working with the pupils, and they should be proud of the work they have produced.
“The songs are rousing and in the local dialect, and will make for an entertaining evening.”
It will be the fifth charity heritage CD that Dave has produced.
Tickets are on sale at Gourline, Gourdon, the primary school, Abbey Music, Arbroath, and from Dave on 01569 750730.
The CD will be launched on June 30 at Gourdon Village Hall to an invited audience.
Organisers have thanked the concert venue, the Links Hotel, which waived its venue charges to support the fund-raiser.
