An ambitious band from Carnoustie that vowed to play at T in the Park within a year of forming will join the finest international and home-grown talent when they play the T Break stage in July.
Make Sparks Robert Garland (26) and brothers Craig (26) and Adam Parker (22) have found out that they will join 15 other unsigned acts in performing at Scotland’s biggest music festival.
Craig said they were “delighted” to have caught the attention of music industry representatives.
He said the trio had made a pact to stop going to the festival until they were “on the other side of the barrier.”
Craig said, “We’ve been playing in other bands together since we were kids and we used to go to T in the Park every year as punters, but about three years ago we decided we weren’t going back till we could play as a group.”
The band, who will perform at the Wickerman Festival and tour the country over the summer, have played 300 gigs since they formed last May.
In addition to writing and performing their own material, they co-founded the Electric Bay Festival at Lunan Bay.
Dave McGeachan, of festival organisers DF Concerts, said, “Yet again, it’s been an incredibly difficult decision as the level of new talent applying for T Break has been phenomenal.
“These 16 acts represent the most exciting new Scottish music around and I can’t wait to see them take to the stage.”
