Itchycoo Park to provide sounds of the 60s at Scottish Beatles Weekend

Even the biggest Beatles fan knows that there was more to the 1960s than the Fab Four.
With that in mind, the organisers of the Scottish Beatles Weekend are giving music fans a taste of the full decade, by inviting Glasgow band Itchycoo Park to join the growing line-up.
The event, happening over three days from Friday, August 12, to Sunday, August 14, will be the first of its kind in Scotland, bringing together the best music, film, talks, theatre and exhibitions.
The guys in Itchycoo Park have always played the music of the 1960s, but in 1996 they broadened their repertoire and now see themselves as a tribute band to the entire decade, playing everything from the classic British pop to the grooves of Tamla Motown.
“We met the guys at Abbey Road in The River in Kentucky last year,” says Ross Nicoll of Dundee’s Revolver and one of the organisers of Scottish Beatles Weekend.
“This year we are getting together to play the full Revolver album. They will be a great addition to the line-up, offering different tunes but the spirit of the time.”
