Scottish singer Amy Macdonald indulged in some five-a-day activity this week without a piece of fruit in sight.
Amy was taking part in a charity gigathon on Tuesday, playing five gigs in one day, the second of which was in Dundee for a special lunchtime show at Duke’s Corner.
Playing songs from her new album, Life In A Beautiful Light, which was released on Monday, along with big hits Mr Rock ‘n’ Roll and This Is The Life, she delighted the 150-strong audience and helped raise money to fight child poverty in Scotland.
Her hectic day began with a breakfast show in Aberdeen, followed by the Dundee show, which she kicked off in fine style with her new single, Slow It Down, which was also released on Monday.
Amy then headed off to Stirling, Edinburgh and finally Glasgow to complete her marathon stint in her home city.
After the show she said: ”It was really good and so unexpected because you think ‘who’s going to turn out for a lunchtime gig?’
”It was a great crowd and I was very pleased to play here. It’s a really nice venue and I’m proud that we have all contributed in raising money for children in poverty.”
Amy’s ultimate musical challenge was in aid of the STV Appeal 2012.
