Students may be renowned for vanishing from everywhere bar the pub, but now Dundee College’s HNC acting and performing class is to show people how to drop off the radar completely.
Fin Kennedy’s award-winning play How To Disappear Completely And Never Be Found explores what makes someone who they are by following a young executive, Charlie, who, on reaching breaking point, decides to disappear.
However, the idea that it is easy to change identity is challenged as the central character is haunted by a pathologist who already has his body on the slab.
Charlie is then plunged into a nightmare in which he sees himself being stripped of everything that made him who he was.
With a nod to Kafka’s menacing surrealism, Kennedy’s play offers a thought-provoking, yet sometimes comic, look at identity and what it means in the 21st century.
How To Disappear And Never Be Found runs Wednesday to Friday at the Space.
