A Fife-based bakery has confirmed plans to re-open 10 of its shops on Monday despite coronavirus concerns.
Bayne’s the Family Bakers closed all of its outlets across Fife, Tayside, Perth and Stirling on March 23 for the safety of all staff and customers.
But John Bayne, joint managing director, has revealed in a statement that 10 shops are to re-open “with a different format” with safety in mind.
“I would like to thank all our staff for their hard work and support over the past few challenging weeks,” he said.
“Please could you respect the systems we have put in place to keep customers and our staff safe by social distancing.”
A limited range of essential goods, most of which will be packaged at the bakery, will be stocked, while there will be fewer staff in shops allowing them to practice social distancing.
Perspex screens have been installed at tills, and only card payments will be accepted.
There will also be reduced opening hours, and only a restricted number of customers will be allowed into the shops.
Two shops in Stirling will re-open, along with ones in Cowdenbeath, Rosyth, Lochore, Lochgelly, Ballingry, Kelty, Kinross and Alva.
