A Dundee-based firm that specialises in print solutions has warned it has felt a “profound and immediate” impact on its operations.
Capital Document Solutions has a staff of 200 across five locations in Scotland, including Dundee’s Old Flour Mill.
The firm, which provides office equipment and recommends how companies can cut printing costs, said it was determined to weather the coronavirus crisis.
The Edinburgh-headquartered business has invested more than £25,000 to adapt its operations and redeploy core staff to work remotely in its efforts to strongly position the business.
Managing director Tom Flockhart, who founded the company in 1979, said: “We’ve set up our own Cobra team which meets regularly to review our plans, processes, and actions as well as outcomes.
“Each of our teams has been tasked with identifying new strategies that we can implement to enhance the business when we get to the reimagined stage on the other side of this crisis.”
Special measures the company has put in place include all sales staff undergoing the latest online training courses and attending webinars; staff being given new laptops and other equipment and the adoption of teamworking software.
Further steps have been taken to minimise any supply and availability issues with spare parts, repairs, new hardware or maintenance for hundreds of clients with more than 13,000 devices on contract across Scotland.
Mr Flockhart said the measures will see a stronger and smarter business.
