Balbirnie House in Fife has been crowned Scottish Hotel of the Year for 2016.
The accolade was one of three bestowed on the 18th century Georgian mansion at a gala dinner in Edinburgh.
Balbirnie House, near Markinch, was also named Wedding Hotel of the Year, and Angela Ferguson, from Balbirnie, was named among the Rising Stars.
Nicholas Russell, managing director, said: “The most coveted trophy in our country’s entire hotel and hospitality industry, has now arrived in the magnificent Kingdom of Fife.”
Over 400 people attended the prestigious event which celebrates Scotland’s best hotels and hospitality professionals.

The winners were selected after a 12 month research process and are a true reflection of Scotland’s thriving and ever-growing hospitality industry.
Craigatin House and Courtyard in Pitlochry won the Bed & Breakfast/ Guest House of the Year prize, and Ballathie House Hotel in Stanley was the Country Sports Hotel of the Year.

The Old Mill Inn at Pitlochry was the Inn of the Year and Andy Murray’s Cromlix Hotel at Kinbuck, near Dunblane was the luxury hotel of the year.
Awards chairman Gary McLean-Quin said of the Cromlix: “This superbly balanced combination of solid investment, vision and hugely experienced management made Cromlix the unanimous choice of judges this year.”
