A Perthshire tourist resort has completed a £300,000 upgrade of its facilities.
Moness Resort at Aberfeldy said the investment followed a “dramatic” altering of the site’s offer from a timeshare-led complex to a major hospitality venue.
The change of direction came after a management buy out of Moness in 2013 and the subsequent launch of a major development programme.
The investment cash was spent on improving the wedding, restaurant and leisure facilities.
Commercial director Ken Lockley said: “ Management had recognised for some time that the timeshare concept was outmoded.
“Indeed, many of the timeshare owners viewed their holdings as redundant, because their lifestyles had changed.”
Owners were offered the opportunity to withdraw from the scheme and only a small proportion of the cottages are now held on a timeshare basis.
The 35-acre resort currently attracts more than 30,000 visitors a year, many from overseas.
