Fashion retailer DV8 has opened its first UK mainland store in Dundee’s Overgate Shopping Centre.
The new DV8 store, in the unit formerly occupied by Topshop and Topman, will create 20 new jobs.
Eight new full-time roles and 12 part-time jobs have been created at the store.
The retail chain, founded in 1994, has 50 stores across Ireland and Northern Ireland and stocks over 100 clothing and footwear brands.
In what is part of an ongoing expansion, DV8 has moved into the 13,422 sq ft unit on the ground and upper levels of Overgate.
DV8 a welcome development for Overgate
Centre manager Malcolm Angus, welcomed the store opening on Thursday afternoon.
He said: “We are delighted to announce the opening of DV8 today in Overgate.
“This is the retailer’s first mainland UK store and a welcome development for the centre.
“The new store has transformed what is a prime location site across two floors.
“It is wonderful to see it occupied again.
“DV8 is a popular fashion retailer which is enjoying strong growth.
“We are confident the new flagship in Overgate, offering an impressive range of top high street brands, will prove extremely popular.”
DV8 director Ramona Fitzpatrick previously said Dundee was an ideal location.
She said: “These are clearly exciting times for Dundee.
“The city’s connectivity to all main Scottish catchments, plus its sizeable youth and student demographic, has played an important part in guiding our decision to choose Dundee.”
