The Balmore Bar in Dundee has reopened after a £135,000 refurbishment.
The community pub on Dura Street has undergone a complete interior and exterior refurbishment.
Owner Proper Pubs said the work brings the bar up to date while retaining its traditional features such as stained glass windows and brass water spouts on the bar.
One of the stained glass windows has been turned into a feature inside.
The bar, operated by manager Mandy McCash and three staff, reopened at the weekend.
Hope to delight Balmore Bar regulars
Mandy said: “This is a very traditional bar which is popular as a community hub.
“It also attracts football fans going to matches at Dens Park and Tannadice, as they’re both close by.
“We’re confident our regulars will like what we’ve done. At the same time as bringing the Balmore up-to-date, we’ve kept its traditional features and in some cases highlighted them.”
Essential building works cost a further £50,000.
Matthew Gurney, Proper Pubs operations director, said: “We’ll now support Mandy and her team as they work to make the Balmore even more popular than it already is.”
