Gleneagles has announced the opening date for its first luxury hotel outside Perthshire, Gleneagles Townhouse in Edinburgh.
Gleneagles Townhouse – a 33-bedroom hotel, members club and restaurant – will open from Monday June 6.
The Townhouse and its all-day restaurant The Spence will open exclusively to members and hotel guests for the opening period. It will open to the wider public in early summer.
Gleneagles Townhouse features
The Townhouse was originally home to the British Linen Company before later becoming the Bank of Scotland.
Over the last five years, Ennismore Design Studio has restored the building to create 33 rooms and suites, some of which overlook St Andrew Square.
At the heart of the building lies The Spence, which will offer modern style brasserie-dining.
Within the restaurant sits a central bar underneath a glass-domed ceiling, serving up a locally inspired list of cocktails, local whiskies, beers, spirits and wine.
Down in the bank’s former vault, a dedicated training, treatments and therapies space will open later in June.
The Strong Rooms will offer an infrared sauna and cryotherapy chamber, as well as a gym and wellness studio.
Gleneagles Townhouse also has lounges designed for meetings, meals and relaxing.
The Members’ Lounge and Members’ Snug also include a help-yourself pantry.
Roof terrace bar Lamplighters will be exclusively for members, offering views across Edinburgh.
Membership rates
Membership at Gleneagles Townhouse costs £2,200 a year. Members will have access to their own lounge, workspaces, rooftop bar and gym facilities.
Gleneagles Hotel suffered multi-million-pound losses over the pandemic as it was forced to close.
Last year, its revenue fell by more than 50% to £19.7 million.
