Shares in Aggreko moved ahead after the Scottish group sealed a deal to provide power for the 2018 Winter Olympics. Under the terms of the $40 million contract, the group will provide power across 18 competition venues at the PyeongChang games in South Korea. The group will also provide power for the international broadcast centre that will beam the games to millions of winter sports across the globe. The group has a long association with major sporting events having previously powered the Olympics, World Cup and The Open. It recently announced it had also been chosen to provide services to the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia’s Gold Coast. CEO Chris Weston said the group was delighted to secure the Winter Olympics tie-up.
