A Perthshire village shop which also includes its Post Office and a six-bedroom home is being put up for sale.
The shop in Errol High Street is on the market for £250,000.
It has been run by its current owners for more than three decades. However, they have decided the time is right to hand over to new owners.
Owners’ retirement plans
The sale is being handled by Christie and Co, who said in a brochure marketing the property: “Our clients have been providing the vital Post Office service to the local community for over 35 years.
“Due to a period of ill health, they are looking to retire and pass the business on to a new operator.
“With the ability to extend or reduce the opening hours to fit around your lifestyle this could suit owners with a young family or more established operators looking to wind down their working hours.”
The owners declined to speak when approached by The Courier.
The shop, which has two part-time staff, consists of a large service counter to the left of the entrance with newspapers and confectionery on display.
Six-bed home for sale with village shop
Inside the building, on the eastern end of the village’s High Street, the Post Office counter is directly opposite the entrance.
An external Post Office branded ATM and small ice cream chest freezer sit to the right of the doorway.
An office/storeroom lies behind the shop.
Meanwhile the six-bedroom house is currently being renovated, with some rooms complete and others yet to be finished.
The three-storey property features a dining room and kitchen on the ground floor. The first floor has a sitting room, office and two bedrooms.
On the second floor are two en suite bathrooms, while the third floor has a further two bedrooms and bathroom.
Christie & Co sales across Tayside and Fife
The Errol property is one of several across Tayside and Fife being sold by the agents.
The 53-bedroom Ballathie House Hotel and 235-acre estate are for sale for £6 million.
A hotel on Courier Country’s most expensive street is on the market for £3.5m.
Meanwhile a Fife guest house, also on the market with Christie and Co, has warned that rising operating costs may mean it is unable to open this winter.
