Workers have been informed that a Spar convenience store in Dundee will close next month.
The Hilltown shop will cease trading on October 5.
Dundee-based Spar wholesaler CJ Lang, which owns more than 100 stores, has taken the decision.
It follows a company review of its shops, which also led to two Aberdeen Spar shops closing.
Why is Dundee Spar closing?
A spokesperson for CJ Lang said: “This decision has been based on a programme of refurbishments, updates and improvements we are making to stores.
“These include the addition of food to go and more fresh food space which was not possible at this outlet.
“We are in consultation with all staff affected by the closure. We will be exploring redeployment opportunities wherever possible at alternative CJ Lang owned stores in the area.”
The spokesperson added: “We thank our staff and shoppers for their loyalty over the years.”
