More than 600 people will gather in Dundee tonight for the biggest event in the Tayside and Fife business calendar.
The Courier Business Awards will be held for the ninth time in a specially constructed marquee in the grounds of the Apex City Quay Hotel.
A total of 19 awards will be presented at the black tie awards ceremony, held in association with accountants Henderson Loggie.
Ed Byrne to host Courier Business Awards
This year’s host, comedian Ed Byrne, has been brushing up on his knowledge of the local business community ahead of the event.
He said: “Over the last few weeks I’ve been learning about all the great businesses in Tayside and Fife – from a clootie dumpling producer to a company working at the cutting edge of space to a championship golf course and a botox clinic.
“I can’t wait to meet the people behind these successes at the awards.
“It is going to be a great night as we celebrate the top business talent in Dundee, Angus, Perthshire and Fife.”
Guests will enjoy a three-course meal and be entertained by the RC Dance Company, The Essential Elton John and the Waterfront band until the early hours.
The event will be raising funds for Business Beats Cancer Dundee.

New Courier Business Awards for 2022
The awards reflect the diverse nature of the business landscape in Tayside and Fife with categories including technology, innovation, retail, community and tourism and hospitality.
This year two new awards will be presented – for Resilience and Recovery as well as a trophy for Transition to Net Zero.
The ceremony will conclude with our top awards for Business of the Year and Outstanding Contribution.
Last year these awards were given to Dundee’s Hutchison Technologies and V&A chair Tim Allan.
Praise for shortlist
DC Thomson managing editor Graham Huband, who was on this year’s judging panel, said every shortlisted company and entrepreneur should be proud of their achievements.
He said: “Deciding on winners caused fierce debate among the judges, with so many businesses doing something special.
“Everyone on the shortlisted was visited by staff from The Courier and Henderson Loggie before a final decision was made.
“It’s a tough time for many companies at the moment but, despite the challenges, the judges were delighted to see that so many of our local companies are punching above their weight.
“The Courier is proud to shine a spotlight on some of our region’s incredible success stories.”
David Smith, managing partner of Henderson Loggie, added: “We have been delighted to support The Courier Business Awards over the last decade as headline sponsors and partner.
“The quality of submissions has been exceptional again this year.
“It’s been inspiring to see how determined and resilient the business community has been across Courier Country. Congratulations to the finalists and best of luck!”
