How a Dundee new mother of two sold £40 million worth of properties in just six months

As success stories go it’s a great one. Rosie Fraser started her estate agency Rosie Fraser Real Estate in April. She had a new baby at the time and aimed to sell five properties a month.

Fast forward to November and Rosie has racked up more than £40million of sales and is listing 60 homes a month. She has also expanded her team to 12 in order to cope with demand and it’s all been done by word of mouth.

So what’s the key to this incredible growth while juggling it with the twin commitment of a newborn child? For Rosie it’s simple – a personal touch, great attention to the smaller details and a fantastic modern marketing approach. At Rosie Fraser Real Estate, Dundee, it’s not about bricks and mortar, it’s about the people selling their homes and understanding their fears and anxieties.

“We do pride ourselves on fantastic personal service,” says Rosie. “Selling your property is notoriously one of the most stressful things that you’ll do in your life. If you’ve got anything stressful then you talk it through with somebody and you automatically feel that a problem shared is a problem halved. I am very proud of the service we provide, we offer a handhold throughout the process.”

Teamwork is key to Rosie Fraser’s success in Dundee

Of course, with her estate agency business expanding at such a rate, that could all be jeopardised if Rosie’s staff weren’t also committed to her approach. But she’s been careful to avoid that by handpicking a team who she knows shares her values. Placing them on commission also assures her that they are fully invested in the process.

Rosie adds: “I hand selected them all. I picked people who I knew would be good. They’re people people. But as well as that, unless your property gets over the finish line they don’t get a commission. I’d worked with a lot of them. When I thought about it, I thought who had I worked with who would be good, who would be really committed. My team’s excellent. I am very proud of them all.”

A focus on the small details

Rosie describes herself as ‘pernickety’ when it comes to the smaller details explaining that she and her team take real care and attention when it comes to the photography, offering a free of charge property staging service as part and parcel of their service to ensure that homes are showcased in their best possible light.

“We can sometimes spend an entire day at a property moving away personal items and anything of colours that may suck the light out of the room to ensure that we get the photographs right. The photographs are what get people through the door at the end of the day”
