Dundee refill shop The Little Green Larder is spreading its sustainability message thanks to a partnership with V&A Dundee.
Products from the Perth Road retailer are being sold at the design museum to tie in with its new plastics exhibition.
Little Green Larder owner Jillian Crabb hopes to make sales from people seeking environmentally friendly alternatives after seeing the exhibition.
She said: “I am so thankful to the V&A for the approach – it’s a huge opportunity for my business.
“The pop-up shop will run until the end of the year. I’ve got a space within the V&A shop with plastic free alternatives for day-to-day items.
“It includes bamboo toothbrushes, compostable sponges and cream deodorants and lip balms in compostable packaging.
“There is also some vegan pick and mix which has been very popular.”
Little Green Larder boost
As well as raising the profile of her business, Jillian said it was equally important to promote the sustainability message.
“It’s really good for us to get the word out there and let people know there is a shop in Dundee fighting to reduce single use plastic,” Jillian said.
“We are here to help people make easy sustainable changes.
“It’s great to do a collaboration with a place as prestigious as the V&A.
Jillian has held a training session with V&A Dundee staff so they are informed about the products.
Sales have also been strong since the shop opened last week and Jillian praises the V&A staff for how they engage with customers.
V&A boost to local firms
Erin Thompson, retail manager at V&A Dundee, said: “The shop at V&A Dundee is passionate about working with and supporting local independent makers and businesses.
“The work Jillian at Little Green Larder is doing in terms of offering plastic free alternatives and taking a more than profit philosophy to business is something we really wanted to get behind and learn from too.”
