Dundee delivery app Snappy Shopper has launched its own advent calendar campaign to spread festive cheer.
The grocery delivery app is working in conjunction with retailers across Dundee, Angus, Perthshire and Fife to give away prizes.
In addition, many retailers are offering free or reduced products from December 1 to 23 on the Snappy Shopper app.
Freebies will include Pot Noodles, Maltesers and Fairy Liquid, while six packs of Diet Coke and Surf will be on offer.
Snappy Shopper co-founder Scott Campbell said: “Christmas is a time for giving back and another opportunity for the Snappy Shopper team to lend a helping hand to local communities.
“Our advent calendar initiative enables us to do just that, since we’ve chosen items we believe will be popular over the festive season and put big smiles on our winners’ faces.
“We are truly grateful for the support our customers have shown both us and our retailers over the past year and are delighted to offer these giveaways.”
Gifting credit through referral scheme
Items in the advent calendar include a PlayStation 5, a Nintendo Switch, a Dyson Air Wrap, gift cards and cash.
To enter, customers add an entry for daily competition prize to their basket when placing an order on the Snappy Shopper app or website.
The firm and its retail partners are also encouraging customers to give a gift through their new referral scheme.
Running throughout December, the initiative allows customers to gift £10 of Snappy Shopper credit when they place their first order on the platform, giving the referee £5 off their next order.
Recently the firm reduced its prices to 1966 levels in the run-up to the World Cup in Qatar.
Chief executive Mike Callachan said: “While Christmas is a time to celebrate, we appreciate that for many people rising living costs remain a huge challenge.
“We wanted to incorporate free or reduced grocery items which may be out of reach as people tighten their purse strings or spend money elsewhere throughout December.
“We make it our goal to enable retailers to serve their local communities better and I believe that these December initiatives allow them to do just that.”
