A Dundee learning and development business has reported an impressive financial bounce back post-pandemic with a £23 million sales rise.
Insights has around 200 staff across two buildings at the city’s Technology Park.
It works with many of the world’s largest companies, including Microsoft, Expedia Group, LinkedIn and PepsiCo.
The business brings self-awareness solutions to people, teams and leaders through its flagship Insights Discovery personality evaluator tool, which uses a four-colour psychological model to help team members develop human skills.
Newly-filed accounts show turnover of £66.5m for the year to March 2022.
That is an increase of over £22m from the previous year’s figure of £42.9m.
‘Remarkable milestone’ for Insights
The increase has been attributed to a digital business transformation.
The business made its products digitally accessible across the globe when businesses were faced with challenges to retain and develop their workforce.
Insights Learning and Development chief executive Fiona Logan said: “This is a remarkable milestone for Insights as we continue to see a significant rise in demand for our offerings.
“This is testament to the extraordinary efforts and capability of our teams around the world and the close relationships we have with our customers.
“As companies realign their focus on employee wellbeing, retention and investment in their people, our solutions have been central to tackling challenges faced by businesses during these disruptive times.”
The accounts also show the firm recorded a pre-tax profit of more than £11m over the reporting period. That compares to a £2.3m loss in 2021.
Ms Logan added the firm’s financial performance reflected its impact globally.
She added: “We are a purpose-led organisation and truly want to make a positive difference in the world.
“One crucial element to this success is our commitment to investing in our own people to help them develop personally and professionally and to feel fully supported.”
Insights Learning and Development has 588 employees located in 20 offices around the world. The US is its biggest marketplace.
Part of the Insights group is tech firm Vidatec, which moved its base from Stirling to Dundee.
Earlier this year, it spent almost £1m to encourage its Dundee staff back to the office.
Insights sales rise at ‘extraordinary’ time
Insights Group chief executive Andy Lothian added it is an extraordinary time for the group.
He said the firm has remained focused on its purpose and values throughout the pandemic. That has been reflected in its financial performance.
Mr Lothian, who founded the company with his father Andi in 1993, said: “We strive continually to innovate in support of our customers’ needs.
“Our research, and development activities, particularly driven by our digital strategy, help us stay at the forefront of the market and deliver on our purpose and vision.
“We’re confident that our brilliant teams will continue to build more value for our customers and accelerate our growth.”
