An oilfield machinery business has further cemented its presence in Tayside by establishing a new base at the Port of Dundee.
North east-based OilMac has followed up on its near £1 million serviced storage investment at Orchardbank at Forfar last year with the new Dundee venture.
The company – which provides crane services and buy and sells a range of surplus onshore and offshore equipment – has begun operating from premises at Dundee’s Prince Charles V wharf.
The quay is the focus of an ongoing £10m upgrade project by docks owner Forth Ports.
OilMac managing director Alex Fyfe said: “We firmly believe that the Port is ideally placed to service the increasing demands of emerging North Sea sectors, including the growing decommissioning and offshore wind industries.
“We are fully committed to supporting these sectors – as well as the city of Dundee – in order to capitalise on the significant opportunities they present for all.
“Collaboration is key in this next era for the North Sea, and we look forward to working with the Port of Dundee and its associated companies, as it works to become a centre of decommissioning excellence.”
