The team behind hugely successful North East Fife distillers and craft brewers, Eden Mill, has been congratulated on becoming the first of the area’s beer producers to be served up in a House of Commons bar.
Eden Mill’s ‘19th Brew’ was one of the regional beers selected for sale in Strangers’ bar shortly before June’s snap general election.
It was put forward by North East Fife MP Stephen Gethins who is a strong advocate for the area’s food and drink industry.
This week he presented Paul Miller, founder and chief executive of Eden Mill, with a certificate to mark the achievement.
Mr Gethins said: “It was fantastic to see Eden Mill’s 19th behind the bar and it was great to pull the first pint. Eden Mill’s innovative approach has seen them go from strength to strength with their whisky, gin and beer and it was great to play a part in that by giving them a showcase at Westminster.”
Guardbridge-based Eden Mill was founded by Paul Miller in 2012 as Scotland’s first combined brewery and distillery.
In July it was announced that the business had landed a new £1.1 million supply contract with Aldi.
It agreed to extend its current beer supplier relationship with the fast-growing supermarket to its bespoke gins and pre-mixed cocktails.
