The biggest night in the business calendar is almost upon us.
The Courier Business Awards will see almost 700 guests gather at Apex City Hotel this weekend to celebrate the finest companies and entrepreneurial individuals of Courier country.
A spectacular marquee is currently being erected and fitted out ahead of the awards ceremony on Saturday night, when TV broadcaster and writer Gyles Brandreth will again take charge as host.
The Courier Business Awards judging panel, led by Clydesdale Bank chairman and proud Dundonian Jim Pettigrew, whittled the entries down to a shortlist comprising more than 50 companies and individuals.

Editor-in-chief Richard Neville said the quality of entries was superb and the awards promise to be a great night.
“This is our fifth annual awards and, as a member of the judging panel from day one, I can attest that this year’s finalist cohort is the best we have seen,” he said.
“Our line-up of shortlisted companies is hugely varied – we have micro businesses and the largest of multinational concerns – but it perfectly reflects the diverse and dynamic economic of Courier Country.”
