The co-founders of Dundee-based leading and personal development group Insights have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to the human resources sector.
Andy Lothian and his father Andi Lothian senior were jointly recognised with the most prestigious award of the evening at the HR Network Scotland national awards.
The pair have spent more than 20 years building up Insights into a truly global player in the people development market.
The award – which was collected by chief executive Andy Lothian – recognised the impact in the HR and people development sphere of the group’s flagship Insights Discovery profiling product.
“I’m incredibly honoured and privileged to receive this award on behalf of Insights,” Mr Lothian said.
“Right now, what the world needs, and what we as the HR community can provide, is to help the world rediscover humanity in a world of disruption.
“In a world where technology is taking over, and tribalism and politics of nationalism and social challenges and so on overwhelm us, if we can maintain our humanity in that world, then we will change it.”
Another business with strong local connections was also recognised at the ceremony at the Glasgow Hilton.
Salmon farming group Loch Duart’s managing director Alban Denton was named as chief executive of the year at the dinner.
Loch Duart’s salmon farms are in the Hebrides and Sutherland, but the sales and administration office where Mr Denton is primarily based is at Montrose, Angus.
“Winning HR Network Scotland’s Chief Executive of the Year is a fantastic endorsement not just for me but for the wonderful Loch Duart team who have come with me on this journey,” Mr Denton said.
“For a business like ours which works in beautiful yet challenging rural locations, having a motivated and confident team is crucial to ensure we can continue to innovate, lead and thrive.
“I’d like to thank the Loch Duart team, and of course HR Network which chose me from such an amazing shortlist.”
