A multi-million Euro production line is to be installed at the Angus manufacturing centre of technical textiles giant Don & Low.
The seven-figure investment in a new spunbond line follows the commissioning of a state-of-the-art artifical grass yarns line at the group’s Forfar facility in the summer.
Don & Low said the new facility – a 3.2 metre Reicofil 4 bicomponent spunbond line with a 5,000 tonne capacity – will cement its reputation as a technical leader in the sector.
It expectes the new line to be installed and commissioned by the Spring of 2019.
It added: “In addition, the investment will see the Nonwovens site expand to create a new unit to facilitate a secondary processing centre of excellence, enhanced by a further investment into a high output, three colour printing line.
“Completion of the site expansion is due April 2018.”
Don & Low is one of the Angus town’s largest private sector employers and has been owned by Greece-based industrial solutions conglomerate Thrace Group since 1999.
It produces both woven and non-woven technical textiles for a range of applications including carpet backings, consumer products, construction and geosynthetic textiles.
