Pre-tax profit at Fourstones Paper Mill, which operates in Fife, saw its profits dip last year.
Fourstones owns the Sapphire Mill at Fettykil in Leslie, formerly the Smith Anderson site.
It manufactures cellulose wadding and hospital disposable underpads and converts tissue for UK healthcare and industrial markets.
The firm, which also operates the South Tyne Mill at Hexham in Northumberland and has a workforce of 149, reported a 16% rise in turnover to the year ending March 31 at £25.4 million.
Cost of sales were up by more than £3m at £21.1m, resulting in the profit before tax being down by more than £90,000 at £753,723.
In the accounts, managing director Peter Duxbury highlighted the seven-figure investment in the Fife site in recent years as being beneficial to the business going forward.
He said: “As a result of the capital expenditure on plant and machinery in recent years and the acquisition of the site at Fettykil, I’m confident the company can perform well in the future.”
