Dundee’s tech hotspots feature in a new interactive guide to promote the growing sector in Scotland.

Dundee Technopole, Seabraes Zone and Space Technology Centre are all highlighted on the tracker which was produced by accountancy and business advisory firm Johnston Carmichael.

Edinburgh’s Codebase, the UK’s largest start-up incubator, Glasgow’s life sciences pioneers and Aberdeen’s oil and gas innovators are also included in the guide.

Shaun Millican, head of technology at Johnston Carmichael, said: “As our tech tracker highlights, Scotland’s tech scene is extremely diverse both geographically and in scope, with a wide variety of tech, life sciences and clean energy entrepreneurs establishing exciting businesses across the country.

“We have a world class tech ecosystem and Johnston Carmichael is proud to be the go-to firm for our tech innovators and incubators.”

The guide praises Dundee Technopole for being at the centre of a community of “commercial and research excellence”.

It said Seabraes was “becoming a hub for digital media and cultural industries, incorporating both commercial and residential space.” and that the Space Technology Centre, set within the School of Computing at the University of Dundee, conducts “nationally and internationally leading research into space technology”.

It adds: “Dundee is renowned for its expertise in digital media and creative industries.

“More than 350 businesses in the sector, employing more than 3,300 people, are currently based in Dundee and the surrounding area generating a combined annual turnover in excess of £185 million.”
