Aldi will add a further eight stores to its Scottish network in the new year.
Discounter Aldi will open new stores in Dundee and Crieff next year as part of Scotland-wide expansion plans.
The German supermarket group will mark 25 years of trading in Scotland by opening eight new outlets across the country, creating 200 new jobs in the process.
The move will take its total Scottish store portfolio to 93 and its overall workforce to 2,300.
Richard Holloway, Aldi’s regional managing director for Scotland said: “Next year will be extra special for us as we mark 25 years since we opened our first store in Scotland on Glencairn Street in Kilmarnock.
“It is fitting that in 2019 we will be replacing the existing Kilmarnock store with a new, larger format to help satisfy increased customer demand.
“We currently have 85 stores across the country and those numbers are continuing to grow year on year.”
Aldi is currently building out a new 196,000 square foot chill storage facility at Bathgate in West Lothian, which will create a further 200 jobs when it opens in 2020.
Mr Holloway said Aldi was also committed to increasing its product procurement in Scotland.
