Residents of Bridge of Allan have been baffled by the appearance of five peacocks wandering along roads and through their gardens.
Homeowners have been urged to report all sightings of the birds — thought to be females, correctly known as peahens — so they can be captured alive and sent to a safe home.
Investigations by the community council have been unable to discover who they belong to, and Blair Drummond Safari Park has now said it will offer them a home — but the animal welfare charity the Scottish SPCA will need to catch them first.
Anyone in the area who spots a peacock or peahen is asked to call the SSPCA on 03000 999 999, or contact Sheila Walker at Blair Drummond on 01786 843103 if they trap the birds.
