Scotland’s farmers, growers and crofters play a significant role in the landscape of the country today.
After all, according to NFU Scotland, around 80% of the country’s land is used for agricultural production. This directly employs 67,000 people, with a further 360,000 jobs also dependent on farming and the food and drink sector.
Plus, the output of agriculture production is worth around £2.9 billion a year and it’s also partly responsible for Scotland’s £5 billion food and drinks exports.
As a result of this, there’s lots of agricultural expertise to be found across Scotland, from family-run dairy farms that have passed down the generations to vets who’ve specially trained to provide care to farm animals.
We’ve pulled together an interactive map showcasing some of the agriculture suppliers that can be found in Scotland.
Click on each supplier to find out more about who they are, what they do and how you can get in touch with them.
