Highland cattle will be sold at the Stirling pedigree bull sales for the first time next month.
TheĀ 20 pedigree Highland bulls and females will go under the hammer of Dalmally-born auctioneer Raymond Kennedy as part of the May bull sales.
United Auctions (UA) sales director and auctioneer, John Roberts said the centre was delighted to welcome the breed for its official show and sale.
“The addition to the May bull sale of this much-admired breed speaks volumes about the eventās growth in popularity from its very modest beginnings,” he said
āNo less than 132 of the UKās leading herds have consignments forward. We anticipate a comprehensive show of excellent bulls with genetics that will have wide appeal to beef producers.ā
To accommodate 262 pedigree bulls and females, the largest-line up in the history of the May event, the format has been expanded and will take place at Stirling Agricultural Centre on May 1-2.
Pre-sale judging of Charolais, Simmental and Highlanders will take place on Sunday afternoon while the shows of Aberdeen-Angus, Beef Shorthorn and Limousin livestock will be held on Monday morning, followed by all sales.
